Most of the mintage circulated heavily in the regional economy and few high-quality examples were saved by contemporary collectors. As a result, the 1904-S is one of the most challenging issues in the Barber Half Dollar series, especially in high grade. This spectacular Gem exhibits sharply detailed design elements.
